Arktika Capital to acquire SEK 786 million NPL portfolio from Morrow Group
Arktika Capital has entered into an agreement with Morrow Group to acquire a Swedish non-performing loan portfolio with a gross book value of approximately SEK 786 million. The portfolio originates from MedMera Bank, which was acquired by Morrow Group.

“The portfolio fits well with Arktika’s strategy of long-term ownership of unsecured consumer NPLs,” says Jan Altersten, CEO of Arktika Capital.
The transaction marks the second NPL portfolio agreement between Arktika Capital and Morrow Group in 2026, following Arktika’s acquisition of a separate Swedish portfolio with a gross book value of approximately SEK 440 million earlier in the year.
For Morrow Group, the transaction reduces non-core exposures following the acquisition of MedMera Bank and improves its balance-sheet position. The sale is being completed at a price above book value and is expected to support the group’s capital ratios.
The transaction is subject to approval by Finansinspektionen, the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority, and is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2026.
